So quietly
From out of a dream
Just out of my reach
The end is past
Sometime last week

Seeing through my eyelids closed
Hoping to wake up
From bitter sweet abandon
Into tranquil repose
To look up from my bed
And see the sun shining bright
A quick and painless death

The stars they shine
Like echoes of peace
A cancer of hope

Haunting me

The world walking sleep
